ASCEND — PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy explains what data the Ascend app ("the App") collects and how it is used.

1. Data we collect

• Account data — email address, username, display name, and (for Google/Apple sign-in) the identifier provided by that service.
• Profile data — optional profile photo and bio.
• User content — photos, captions, comments and challenges you create.
• Usage data — your wins, streaks, points, achievements, calendar and nutrition entries you log.
• Device data — a push-notification token (if you enable notifications).

2. How we use your data

• To provide and operate the App (accounts, posts, leaderboards, challenges, trackers).
• To send notifications you have enabled.
• To keep the community safe (screening uploaded images, reviewing reports).

3. Service providers

We use Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage, hosting, cloud functions) and Google Cloud Vision for image safety screening. Sign-in is provided by Google and Apple. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Content you choose to post (e.g. posts, username, profile) is visible to other users of the App. The rest of your data is not shared except with the service providers above or where required by law.

5. Data retention and deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time from within the App (Profile → Delete Account). This removes your profile, posts, and associated data. You may also contact us to request deletion.

6. Children

The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

7. Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
